Jamaat-e-Islami Hind – Delhi Halqa

Our Philosophy

  • Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH) is a principled organization that draws its philosophy and worldview from Islam, grounded in three fundamental pillars: the Oneness and Sovereignty of God (Tawheed), Prophethood (Risalat), and the Life Hereafter (Aakhirah).

Belief in the One God is the starting point of Islam. He is the Creator of the entire universe, and the loving Sustainer of life in all its forms.

Islam affirms that human beings are the trustees (vicegerents) of God on earth, duty-bound to worship Him and follow His righteous guidance across all walks of life.

God sent His messengers throughout history to convey divine truth to humanity across different lands and eras. Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) is the final messenger in this prophetic succession. He delivered the complete and final revelation in the Holy Quran—the verbatim Word of God—and established a practical, living model through his noble character and tradition (the Sunnah).

From the Oneness of God emanates the unity of all humankind. In the Islamic worldview, all human beings are descendants of Adam and Eve (Hawwa). No person is superior to another by virtue of birth, caste, colour, race, nationality, or language. True human dignity is measured solely by righteousness, moral conduct, and devotion to God.

The message of Islam is universal, addressing all humanity rather than any exclusive community. A Muslim is one who voluntarily submits to the will of God and walks the divine path of justice, compassion, and peace.

Islam presents a balanced, comprehensive worldview that harmonizes spiritual devotion with material responsibility, providing moral guidance for both individual conduct and collective social life.

In the Islamic perspective, life does not end with physical death; human beings will experience ultimate moral accountability in the Hereafter. Guided by free will, those who align their lives with Divine Guidance will achieve true, enduring success in this world and the eternal life to come.

Human existence is a purposeful test of conscience and integrity. Islam unequivocally affirms that there is no compulsion or coercion in matters of faith and religion.

Islam places supreme sanctity upon human life. As the Holy Quran declares, slaying an innocent person unjustly is akin to killing the whole of humanity, while saving a single life is as though one has saved all humankind.

Guided by these principles, Jamaat-e-Islami Hind strives to convey the compassionate, constructive message of Islam to our fellow citizens through peaceful, constitutional means.

Recognizing the gap between the pristine ideals of Islam and prevailing community practices, JIH is committed to nurturing a society that genuinely reflects Islamic values of integrity, compassion, and justice.

JIH champions peace, mutual respect, and communal harmony, resolutely opposing violence, extremism, and sectarian hatred.

JIH actively works for social justice, standing shoulder-to-shoulder with the marginalized, underprivileged, and oppressed sections of society.

JIH firmly upholds that women play an indispensable role in shaping a just and moral society. Towards this conviction, JIH actively engages women across all walks of life, striving to secure the dignity, fundamental rights, and equitable status guaranteed to them by Islam. As the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) affirmed: “Seeking knowledge is an obligation upon every Muslim.”

JIH actively combats gender discrimination and social injustices, campaigning against domestic abuse, sexual harassment, dowry practices, female foeticide, and the denial of women’s rightful inheritance.
